Casinos will change their dice at least once a day.  After that much play the dice are scratched, nicked and the edges become rounded.  The dice you purchase at the casino gift shops have seen many hours of continuous play and will not give you the same bounce as a pair of new dice.

If you are serious about practicing your game and improving your SRR (sevens-to-rolls ratio), you need to simulate casino conditions as much as possible.  That starts with a pair of new dice identical in size and weight to those used in all the major casinos.

Advanced practioners will use both a red die and a green die so that they can track the results of each die.  When using programs like Bone Tracker it is essential that different colored dice are used.  Consider purchasing one stick of red and one stick of green dice today.
